Attending the opening ceremony were Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Da Nang Le Tri Thanh, Vice Chairwoman of the municipal People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, and Director of the Da Nang Newspaper and Radio, Television Doan Xuan Hieu, along with representatives from the consulates of Russia, Laos, and Spain in the city.

Taking place from May 20 to 24 at the East Sea Park, the Tam Thanh Beach Square, and many other locations throughout the city, this year's Da Nang Food Tour Festival is designed as a multi-sensory experience, combining cuisine, art, culture, and technology.

Its aim is to create a vibrant festival space for both local residents and tourists.

The highlight of the opening night was an elaborately staged artistic program featuring a modern theatrical language, combining music, lighting, artistic performances, and culinary reenactments.

From rustic countryside kitchens and street vendors evoking memories of old urban life to the dynamic rhythm of modern coastal city, the entire program emotionally recreated the formation and development of local culinary culture.

In her opening remarks, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi emphasized that cuisine is not just food to be enjoyed, but also a place where memories, culture, and the soul of a land are preserved.

She added “The municipal authorities hope to turn the Da Nang Food Tour Festival 2026 into a signature tourism product, a new ‘cultural ambassador’ for Da Nang on its journey of integration and development”.

Mrs. Thi also voiced her hope that every festival-goer will have the opportunity to not only enjoy delicious dishes, but also experience the rhythm of life, spirit, and the unique identity of the coastal city of Da Nang.

She also noted that this year's festival marked a concrete step in the strategy of positioning Da Nang as one of Asia’s leading destinations for festivals, events, and cuisine. Through this, the city will continue to offer fresh, modern, and emotionally rich experiences to both locals and visitors.

Within the framework of the festival, a wide range of unique cultural and culinary activities are being organized, such as “Da Nang Flavors” - a gathering place showcasing the culinary essence of Quang region, and Vietnamese and international cuisine.

Also, the “Culinary Essence” experiential space features more than 200 local, regional and international food booths, where visitors can not only enjoy dishes but also directly participate in cooking activities, explore traditional crafts, join folk games and immerse themselves in a series of multi-sensory interactive activities.

Festival-goers can freely check-in at the “Colors of Quang Region” space with large-scale installations inspired by Central Vietnamese life, such as basket boats, Quang-style kitchens, street vendors and coastal urban settings.

These are recreated through installation art and modern lighting technology, creating visually impressive touchpoints for tourists and young people alike.

Especially on May 23, visitors will be energized with Beer Fest Night at the East Sea Park. The event will feature music, interactive games, and over 5,000 diverse Food & Beer combos.

Additionally, the ShopeeFood Concert on the evening of May 24, with the participation of popular artists such as Noo Phuoc Thinh, Karik, Trong Hieu, Orange, DJ Mie and Kimmese, is expected to become one of the most explosive highlights of this year’s festival season.

The festival space has also been expanded to many localities with a series of uniquely themed activities, including the "Taste of Sea" Food Festival, being held from the afternoon to evening of May 22 - 24 at the Tam Thanh Beach Square, and the Hoi An Dong Folk Cake Festival on May 23 at the Cam Chau Market.
