The city is also among the world’s 12 standout startup ecosystems featured at StartupBlink’s 2025 online workshop, earning its recognition as one of the world’s startup destinations.

This remarkable leap reflects the city’s long-term vision, consistent policy support, and growing creative community, positioning Da Nang as an emerging hub for innovation in Southeast Asia.

The latest data highlights the city’s comprehensive shift in development strategy, emphasizing infrastructure, policies, human resources, and a nurturing environment for startups.

Alongside impressively increasing scale, Da Nang’s ecosystem is maturing in quality, shaping a business-friendly climate for technology-driven and next-generation creative enterprises.

A distinct entrepreneurial culture is taking root through regular, meaningful initiatives. Programmes like Startup Coffee, which foster direct dialogue between young entrepreneurs and local authorities, are active across many local wards.

Flagship events including SURF 2025 and Startup Runway 2025 serve as vibrant platforms that fuel entrepreneurial spirit among the city’s youth.

Between January and August 2025, Da Nang issued over 4,300 new business registrations with a combined charter capital of VND 18.37 trillion, up by 21% in number and 42% in capital compared to 2024. This surge underscores the growing dynamism of the private sector.

Incubators such as the Da Nang Business Incubator (DNES) and Song Han Incubator (SHi) play a vital role, annually training dozens of startup teams, many of which are now reaching international markets.

Among them is Ngo Tan Tien, the founder of BookShare and Skoplib, who leveraged local startup networks to expand his AI-powered library management platform to partners in Germany and Australia.

Da Nang’s ambition extends further. As the city pursues smart urban development and digital economy leadership, more than 20 policy documents have been enacted to boost innovation.

These include tax incentives for tech startups, non-refundable funding for feasible projects, and tailored packages for AI, semiconductors, and other high-tech industries.

With strong government commitment, investor engagement, and an increasingly global outlook, Da Nang is steadily shaping its identity as a resilient “launchpad for regional innovation.
