DNO - During the April 30 - May 1 holiday, Da Nang’s tourism sector recorded strong accommodation performance, with many hotels and resorts reaching high occupancy or full capacity, reflecting a robust recovery and a shift toward experience-driven travel.

Hotels near full capacity
The holiday period saw a surge in accommodation demand, with average occupancy reaching around 73.8% and peaking at nearly 86% on April 30, while many hotels reported last-minute bookings and full capacity.
Hotel systems such as Royal Capital Group recorded strong performance, driven mainly by domestic travellers (families, groups and short-stay visitors) alongside a clear recovery in international arrivals.

Similarly, the Fivitel Hotel Chain reported occupancy rates of 85 - 95%, with some central hotels fully booked from April 29 to May 2.
Four-star hotels in the city centre saw guest numbers rise by about 20% year-on-year, mainly from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and northern provinces, while international markets, especially South Korea and India, showed strong recovery in family and MICE segments.
Meanwhile, Nui Than Tai Hot Springs Park also reached near-full capacity, with bookings made weeks in advance and growing numbers of visitors from Northeast and Southeast Asia.
Shift toward experience-driven travel
Beyond high occupancy, the holiday period highlighted a shift toward experience-driven travel with visitors prioritising diverse, high-quality offerings.
Travellers are opting for short to medium-length trips with higher expectations for services and integrated activities, supported by more flexible itineraries during the extended holiday.

Families, couples, and groups remain the dominant segment, favouring resorts that offer privacy, comprehensive amenities, and on-site experiences.
Demand is rising for all-in-one packages that combine relaxation with cuisine, entertainment and beach activities.
Tourism operators also note a growing trend toward blending leisure with cultural and wellness experiences, contributing to longer stays, particularly among families, and group travellers.
Preparing for peak season
To meet rising demand, tourism and hospitality businesses ramped up staffing, optimised operations, and enhanced service standards. New offerings also boosted appeal, notably the launch of The Shore Beach Club, featuring BBQ parties, live music, DJ shows, fire dancing, and fireworks.

Resorts such as Furama Resort Da Nang maintained service quality through streamlined operations and personalised experiences despite high occupancy, while hotels and operators introduced new culinary, cultural and service packages.
These positive signals are expected to drive strong momentum for the summer season, reinforcing Da Nang’s position as a leading regional resort destination.
