DNO - With a rich and valuable system of historical relics, scenic spots and festivals, Da Nang has great advantages and potential for developing cultural industry which is one of the city’s identified priority sectors.
In addition to specialized museums, famous relics and landscapes citywide have attracted large numbers of visitors.
The city has developed tours connecting heritage sites and traditional festivals to preserve and promote the value of historical relics and traditional crafts in rural villages along rivers, especially the Han River - K20 Revolutionary Base, Han River - Tuy Loan - Thai Lai, and Cu De River routes.
After merging with Quang Nam Province which is home to two UNESCO World Heritage sites, namely Hoi An Ancient Town and My Son Sanctuary, Da Nang possesses an additional layer of deep and colourful culture.
Notably, Hoi An houses more than 50 traditional crafts, some of which are recognized as National Intangible Cultural Heritage including Thanh Ha pottery, Kim Bong carpentry, Tra Que vegetable farming, and Thanh Chau bird nest farming.
Additionally, Hoi An preserves many unique folk performances such as ‘ba trao’, ‘ho khoan’ and ‘sac bua’ singing, ‘bai choi’ performance, folk songs, and Tuong art.
The large-scale outdoor spectacle “Hoi An Memories” becomes the signature highlight of Hoi An’s cultural industry.
In recent times, Da Nang has focused on developing festivals and events, achieving significant recognition such as the title “Asia’s Leading Festival and Event Destination”.
Typically, the annual Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) becomes a unique and expanding brand. The Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF) lays the foundation for the city's next major cultural events.
Moreover, Da Nang has a fairly synchronous system of performance facilities, such as Trung Vuong Theater, Nguyen Hien Dinh Tuong Theater, and Da Nang Children's Palace, plus outdoor spaces like the East Sea Park, March 29 Square, and along both banks of the Han River.
The city's young artists and actors are very dynamic and creative, and regularly gain achievements in domestic and international competitions and art festivals.
The municipal government always creates favorable conditions in terms of mechanisms and policies to promote the development of the cultural and artistic fields.
Along with Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang is identified as one of the three key cultural industrial centers. It is also one of the localities that has invested in building and developing the Creative Design Center.
