DNO - Vietnam’s coastal city of Da Nang ranks among the top destinations with the highest accommodation search demand during the upcoming holiday peak.
According to new data from travel platform Agoda, searches for accommodation by domestic travelers in Da Nang rose by 89% for the extended holiday period from late April into early May, compared to the same period last year.
The spike coincides with Vietnam’s extended public holidays, including Hung Kings Commemoration Day, Reunification Day (April 30) and International Workers’ Day (May 1).
The data highlights a broader trend shaping travel behavior this year: a clear shift toward coastal destinations as temperatures rise in early summer.
Alongside Da Nang, cities such as Nha Trang, Vung Tau and Phan Thiet rank among the most searched locations, underscoring travellers’ desire for ocean air, open spaces and restorative breaks.
In Da Nang, the seasonal transition is marked by a vibrant atmosphere.
Long stretches of sandy beaches and clear waters provide not only a cooling escape but also a backdrop for a range of activities, from water sports to casual seaside leisure.
This coastal city is also ramping up its tourism offerings with the launch of its 2026 beach season, running from April 25 to May 3 at the Bien Dong Park.
The event features a packed schedule of cultural performances, culinary showcases, sports activities and community events designed to energise the coastline from day to night.
Alongside the festive energy, Da Nang is promoting a more reflective travel experience through its “Return to Origin” concept, which encourages visitors to slow down and reconnect.
The initiative highlights quieter attractions, including natural landscapes, heritage sites, museums and traditional craft villages, offering a counterbalance to the city’s lively beachfront.
In 2026, the Hung Kings holiday, which falls on the 10th day of the third lunar month, coincides with Sunday, April 26. Workers will receive a compensatory day off on Monday, April 27, resulting in a three-day break from April 25 to April 27.
For the Reunification Day and International Workers’ Day holiday, the two official days off fall on Thursday and Friday. Combined with the weekend, workers will have a four-day break from April 30 to May 3.
The schedule applies to civil servants, public employees and workers in the State sector.

As domestic travel continues to evolve, Da Nang’s blend of accessibility, natural beauty and curated experiences positions it as a leading choice for holidaymakers seeking more than just a getaway, an experience that balances escape with renewal.
In the first quarter of 2026, Da Nang welcomed an estimated 4.2 million overnight visitors, up 15.3% year-on-year. Of the total, international arrivals were estimated at 2.3 million, while domestic visitors exceeded 1.8 million.
The city has set a target of serving over 19 million visitors at its accommodation establishments in 2026, with total tourism revenue projected to reach approximately VND70 trillion (US$2.7 billion).
