Da Nang - A vibrant city of festivals and events

Da Nang is increasingly recognised as a dynamic tourist attraction for both domestic and international tourists thanks to its rich lineup of festivals and cultural events.

Summer in Da Nang is marked by major events such as the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF), the Enjoy Da Nang Festival, the Vietnam - UK Football Festival, and the Da Nang Asian Film Festival (DANAFF). These events entertain and promote the city’s cultural identity and boost the local economy.

First-time visitor Martin from New Zealand shared his surprise at the joyful community atmosphere during the fireworks festival that everyone was interacting, discussing the performances like old friends. It was so different from other places he’d visited.

According to tourism experts, especially among younger travellers, there is a growing interest in trips that combine sightseeing with cultural immersion.

Da Nang is embracing this trend by developing branded events and aiming to enhance traditional festivals such as the Quan The Am (Bodhisattva of compassion) and Whale Worship festivals.

Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association, emphasises the need for strategic planning to create a full chain of events and experiences.
