Cultural festivals boost Da Nang’s tourism appeal in 2026

Distinctive folk cultural festivals

According to the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the city will host numerous folk cultural festivals following the Lunar New Year holiday.

These include the Crop-Praying Festival (February 23) in Tra Que Village, Hoi An Tay Ward; the Tuy Loan Village Communal House Festival (February 25 -26) at Tuy Loan Village Communal House, Hoa Vang Commune; the Huong Tra Village Communal House Festival 2026 (February 26 - 27) at the Huong Tra Eco-village and Ca Ban Village; the Ba Cho Duoc Festival (February 26 -27) in Thang An Commune; the Ba Chiem Son Festival (February 25 - 28) in Duy Xuyen Commune; the Kim Bong Ancestral Worship Ceremony and the Kim Bong Traditional Craft Village Festival (February 27 - 28) at the Tien Hien Communal House and Kim Bong Carpentry Village Center; the Water Trough Worship Festival in February in villages across Nam Tra My Commune; the Cau Ngu (Whale Worshipping) Festival (March 4 - 6) at the Ha Khe Beach Park, Thanh Khe Ward; and the Forest Thanksgiving Ceremony (March 6 - 7) at the Po Mu Heritage Eco-village, Hung Son Commune.

In addition, there will be other unique festivals such as the first "Colorful Tra Van" cultural and tourism festival 2026 (February 27 to March 1) in Khe Chu and Noc Ong Ni residential areas, Tra Van commune; the Tulip Festival in February and March at Sun World Ba Na Hills; the Light and Heritage Festival (February 17 to April 30) at Hoi An Memories Island; the God of Wealth Festival 2026 (February 18 to March 4) at the Nui Than Tai Hot Springs Park; the Hoi An Sticky Corn Festival 2026 (March 7 and 8) in Thanh Nam residential area, Hoi An Ward; and the Ngoc Linh Ginseng Fair (March 1 to 3) at the Ngoc Linh Ginseng Event Center, Nam Tra My commune.

Enhancing tourism appeal through festivals

Tourism products are inseparable from both traditional and newly introduced festivals. Closely tied to the spiritual life of local communities, these events reflect the enduring relationship between people and nature, embodying the distinct cultural identity of Quang land and the central coastal region.

This year, the city plans to organize more than 50 events and festivals, including over 10 large-scale events taking place throughout 2026.

Notably, the city will host the first-ever Da Nang International Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Medicinal Herbs Festival in 2026, aimed at creating a space to promote the "national treasure" Ngoc Linh ginseng brand to the international market, as well as laying the foundation to gradually transform Da Nang into a center for the medicinal herb industry.

In addition, the city will roll out festivals associated with the Global Creative City Network, such as the Folk Music and Art Festival, the Lantern Festival in the first quarter of 2026, and the Da Nang Creative Arts Week in the third quarter.

Particular attention will also be given to mountainous-area events, including the Tra My Cinnamon Festival, the “Colors of Tra Van” Culture - Tourism Festival, and the Arieu Chili Festival. These events will integrate destination-based experiences to boost upland tourism and preserve indigenous cultural values.
