(QNO) - Go Home 201, an artwork created by Tran Huu Tai, Director of CSO Gallery in Hoi An, allows people to easily check the time in 202 countries or territories worldwide.
Go Home 201 is an installation with 202 clocks, each displaying the time of a country’s capital. Tran Huu Tai arranged the clocks, featuring each country's flag as the background, to form a world map, allowing viewers to check the time and see the flags of different nations from Vietnam.
Next to Go Home 201, Tran Huu Tai displays a wooden board with the names of 201 countries and territories, and their time differences from Vietnam, allowing visitors to easily calculate time differences. He created this by comparing Hanoi's time to GMT and adjusting each country's time accordingly. For example, Japan is +2 hours, Denmark is -6 hours, Brazil is -10 hours, and South Africa is -5 hours from Vietnam.
Most foreign visitors are impressed by Go Home 201 for its simplicity and accuracy. Olivia, an Australian tourist, said that it was the first time he had seen an artwork displaying the time of 202 countries. He found the artwork truly fascinating and deserving of admiration.
Since opening in January 2024, CSO Gallery (229 Cua Dai Street, Hoi An) has become a unique museum with valuable collections. In addition to Go Home 201, visitors can explore collections of Truyện Kiều (The Tale of Kieu), stamps related to President Ho Chi Minh, and mascots of the horse.
The gallery also displays ancient coins, banknotes, and paper money with themes such as animal coins, FAO food-related coins, and women's banknotes.
Visitors can also see military badges from WWI and WWII and a lucky coin tree from 200 countries, offering insights into history, economics, and culture.
