The Quang Nam delegation, led by Deputy Director Nguyen Qui Quy, was received by Kaifuchi Hiroyuki from Nagasaki’s Department of Culture, Tourism, and International Relations.

At the meeting, Quang Nam proposed opportunities for its officials to study Nagasaki’s strengths, especially high-tech, climate-resilient agriculture, organic farming, and safe cattle breeding. They also sought cooperation in applying Japanese technologies and sharing expertise in advanced livestock farming and waste treatment.

In culture and tourism, Quang Nam requested support in modern marketing skills and digital transformation. Nagasaki agreed to fund travel and accommodation for Quang Nam officials studying agriculture and fisheries in 2025.

Both parties will continue discussions on tourism and healthcare collaboration, and Nagasaki plans to send officials to Quang Nam in 2026 for further exchange.

Later that day, the Quang Nam delegation met the Nagasaki Department of Industry and Labour, where they were welcomed by Director General Ishida Tomohisa.

Since 2019, both parties have cooperated under an MoU on human resource exchange, implemented through Suleco Company. In 2024, Nagasaki officials visited Quang Nam to strengthen this partnership.

As the MoU nears its October 2025 expiration, Quang Nam hopes Nagasaki will continue supporting its technical interns, particularly in healthcare, agriculture, and tourism.

Ishida noted a growing number of Vietnamese workers in Japan, especially in sectors like construction, manufacturing, and services. Both provinces plan to expand policies to support this labour exchange.
