Both teams are expected to deliver impressive performances that showcase the distinctive cultural identities of Asia and Europe.

Representing Japan at DIFF 2026, team captain Naganuma Keisuke said the performance will showcase traditional Hanabi artistry, featuring signature effects such as Wari-mono, Kamuro and Japan’s renowned colour-transition techniques.

A highlight will be the Kamuro effect, which creates cascading golden trails that slowly descend after the burst.

In the DIFF-2026 spirit of “Da Nang - United Horizons", the performance will blend Vietnamese, Japanese and Italian cultural elements through fireworks and music.

Keisuke emphasised Japan’s strengths in precise music synchronisation, symmetrical chrysanthemum-shaped fireworks and harmonious colour combinations, while praising the growing scale and professionalism of the International Fireworks Festival in Da Nang.

Italian team captain Giorgio Bonaccio said the performance, titled “Echoes Toward the Future", will blend Europe’s cultural heritage with contemporary influences and modern Vietnamese elements. The performance will use the team’s proprietary synchronisation technology and feature Vietnamese songs to create a stronger connection with local audiences.

Backed by a company founded in 1917, the Italian team is known for its technical precision and ability to closely synchronise fireworks with music.

Bonaccio also praised Japan’s traditional fireworks artistry and described DIFF 2026 as a unique event that combines competition with cultural exchange and international friendship.

More than a competition, the event is expected to offer audiences a vibrant celebration of cultural exchange between East and West, lighting up the skies above the Han River with creativity, heritage, and innovation.
