(QNO) - Under the theme “Cultural Essence,” Da Nang (Vietnam 1) and Finland lit up the opening night of the 2025 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) with a stunning, vibrant display.
As the opening act of DIFF’s largest season, Da Nang’s team amazed the audience with a dazzling 20-minute show featuring over 5,000 fireworks synchronised to music, sending a spirited greeting to locals and visitors on the 50th anniversary of the city’s liberation.
The show included different segments (Harmony, Tribute, Integration, Pioneer, and Glory) that told Vietnam’s cultural journey, sweeping viewers through sparkling rain, colour changes, and powerful bursts from calm to explosive.
Meanwhile, Finland’s “Nordic Lights” show brought a dynamic, intense atmosphere, capturing the Nordic spirit and proving their reigning DIFF champion status.
Opening with energetic pop rock, the display told the story of a people living among icy seas and islands.
Dramatic high-altitude fireworks lit the sky with green, purple, and pink ribbons, mimicking the Northern Lights (the magical natural phenomenon of the Nordic lands), and transporting viewers to Lapland.
A standout moment featured the Vietnamese songs "Bóng phù hoa-Vũ trụ cò bay" (A Fleeting Shadow of Illusion - The Universe of Flying Storks) amid a Nordic-coloured fireworks performance. Fireworks formed shapes like fans and swirling storks, creating a magical fusion between two seemingly distant cultures.
After the opening, fireworks shows continue every Saturday with a break before the final. Themes and teams are:
